Overview
Every inventory item's detail page includes a Transaction History section showing a running log of all stock movements for that item: receipts, releases, adjustments, and transfers, all in one place.
Prerequisite
You need the Inventory: View and Inventory: View all permission to open an item's detail page and see its Transaction History. If you need to see items across all locations or departments, you need instead.
If you don't have the required permission, contact your admin under General Settings > Manage Privileges.
Steps
Go to Inventory > Inventory.
Click the Item # of the item you want to review. This opens the item's Product Summary page.
Scroll down to the Transaction History section, below Receipt Details.
Each row shows: Date, Transaction ID, Transaction type, Location impacted, Performed by, Quantity in/out, and Total running balance.
Use the search box to filter entries, or click Export to download the full history.
FAQ
Q: What transaction types show up here?
Receipt, Release, Adjustment, or Transfer, any activity that changes the item's stock level.
Q: What does "Total running balance" show?
The item's on-hand stock level immediately after that transaction, so you can pinpoint the exact balance at any point in time.
Q: What does "Location impacted" show?
The specific warehouse/bin location affected by that transaction
Q: Can I edit or delete an entry?
No. The view is read only, it's an audit trail, not an editable log.
Q: Can I export the history?
Yes, click Export above the table.
Q: Why can't I see the Transaction History section on an item?
You may not have the Inventory: View permission (or Inventory: View all, if the item belongs to a location or department outside your access). Contact your admin to enable this under General Settings > Manage Privileges.
