How to Lock the Ship-To Location to the Default Location for a user?

Do you want your users to use a single Ship-To Location?

Prerequisites

  1. Ensure you have the Admin access.

Steps:

Step 1: Access Privilege settings

  1. Switch to Admin.

  2. Click on Configurations > Manage Privileges.

Step 2: Update Privilege

  1. Open an existing privilege which should have a locked ship-to-location.

  2. Check the boxes for the "Lock Ship To Address" option under Orders, Invoices, and Request for Purchase, based on your use case.

    For example, for requestors, we would check the option under Orders or Request for Purchase. This will lock the ship-to location to the default location on the Request/Order form for the requestors.

  3. Click Update Privilege.

Step 3: Verify the changes

  1. Create a draft request/order/invoice, under "Additional/Shipping Details" check if this field is greyed out.

1. How to update a user's default Ship-To Address?

  • An Admin can do it by editing a user's profile, under the "Users" section.

2. Can I restrict this to only a few users?

  • Yes, you can. To restrict this to specific users, you will need to create a new privilege and a new role.

    When creating the privilege, select the option for "Lock Ship To Address" and then apply this privilege to the new role under 'Manage Roles'. Lastly, Assign the Role to the user.
