To calculate tax using Avalara in ProcureDesk, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open the Invoice

  1. Navigate to the Invoice:

    • Open the invoice where you want to calculate tax.

  2. Enter Line Item Details:

    • Fill in the details for each line item on the invoice as required.

Step 2: Calculate Tax Using Avalara

  1. Click the Avalara Button:

    • On the top right-hand side of the invoice screen, you will see an Avalara button. Click on it.

  2. View Tax Calculation Details:

    • A pop-up will appear, breaking down the tax information:

      • Items: Lists the items you've added to the invoice.

      • Calculated Tax: Displays the tax amount calculated by Avalara.

      • Delta Tax: Shows the difference (if any) between the tax entered on the invoice and the tax calculated by Avalara.

      • Tax Code: The specific tax code used for the calculation.

      • Tax Rate: The rate at which the tax was calculated.

    • This provides a line-by-line summary of how the tax was calculated.

Step 3: Review Tax at the Line Item Level

  1. Go to Line Items:

    • If you want to review the tax calculation for each line item individually, navigate to the Line Items section of the invoice.

  2. View Tax for Each Line:

    • On the right-hand side of each line item, under Actions, click on the Avalara (A) icon.

    • This will display the same detailed tax information for that specific line item.

Summary

There are two ways to view the tax details:

  • Overall Invoice Level: Use the Avalara button at the top right to see a summary for all items.

  • Individual Line Item Level: Use the Avalara icon under Actions for each line item to see detailed tax information specific to that line.

By following these steps, you can efficiently calculate and review taxes using Avalara in ProcureDesk.
