If you come across the "The provided edit sequence is out of date" error on a document and can't get it to sync to QuickBooks Enterprise, here's what you need to know:

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Understand the Error

  • When you edit/modify a document in QuickBooks Enterprise, it creates a new version of that document called an "Edit Sequence". This must be synced back to the original document in ProcureDesk.

  • This error occurs when the document in ProcureDesk is also changed before the edit sequence has synced.

Step 2: Wait for the Nightly Sync Job

  • There is a nightly job that syncs new edit sequences.

  • Ideally, if you try to send this for integration the next day, the issue should be resolved.

Step 3: Send for Integration

  • Open the document that encountered the error.

  • Go to Actions and click on Send for Integration.

  1. What if the error persists after the nightly sync?

    • Ensure that no further changes are made to the document before the nightly sync. If the error persists, contact ProcureDesk Support.
